Servicemix Kernel == Felix Karaf ?

Hey all,

According to http://servicemix.apache.org/kernel/home.html the ServiceMix
Kernel sub-project has moved to become the Felix sub-project Karaf.

Does this mean the ServiceMix Kernel project will be completely removed
from the servicemix project? If yes, it would make things much less
confusing if the name "ServiceMix Kernel" is replaced with "Felix Karaf"
throughout the ServiceMix site.

BTW, the current link to SMX Kernel is invalid (see
http://servicemix.apache.org/SMX4/index.html and click on "ServiceMix
Kernel" in the menu).

Lars,

Thanks for the fast reply.

Could you give an estimation of when the website will be updated? I'm
trying to convince my boss that servicemix is a better choice than mule,
but so far I'm not very successful. They keep smacking me with the mule
documentation and large user base.

Geert.

Hi Geert,

the Kernel has been moved out to the Apache Felix project (Karaf).
Since Apache ServiceMix 4.2 the Kernel has been replaced with Felix
Karaf in SMX.
The website is currently being reworked so it may be a bit outdated.
We are working
on that.

Regards
Lars

Hi Geert,

ServiceMix Kernel is now deprecated and no more used. It became Apache
Felix Karaf.

ServiceMix 4.2 now uses Apache Felix Karaf.

Concerning the Kernel link, it's a known issue (SM-1923) which should be
fixed on the new website (currently in preparation).

Regards
JB
