wsdl description

Hello,

I understand that the WSDL files are used to publish the interface to a
SOAP service. 

Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to write something
like this, where
it should be located on your server, and/or does this automatically get
generated when 
you deploy a webservice with apache-soap ?

Or if i am mistaken please let me know as well :)
