[KIP-196|https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/KAFKA/KIP-196%3A+Add+metrics+to+Kafka+Connect+framework] adds a metric to expose the current leader of a connect cluster. It would be helpful to make this information available via REST as well as it would not require the use of a JMX client.
