Multiple Delivery of Same Message (1000s)
I have an interesting issue I can not track down and was wondering if
anyone else has seen something similar.
I have a user who sent a message via james and the same message is being
delivered to the final recipient thousands of times. When I look in the
james logs, I see 1 delivery. I have shutdown james and looked in the
spool/outgoing directories and do not find a copy of the email.
On final recipient end they are using an Outlook client and I am trying
to find out their mail server application.
Anyone seen anything like this and have a direction to point me in so
that I can try to start figuring this out?

Did you see the thousands messages in the recipient inbox?
Probably the client is reading thousand of times the message from pop3 and
is not deleting it.
This is probably a bug in Outlook. I experienced a similar issue and it went
away when I installed the latest service pack for my outlook (office).
Look here:

The bug is the one about multiple message downloaded from POP3 servers
supporting UIDL or TOP.
