Local generation of documentation?
Is it possible to generate documentation locally, or how does it work?

Follow-up; The Apache CMS seems useful enough to not require local
generation. Submitting a patch soon.

We use the Apache CMS. There are instructions on how to set that up locally so you can generate documentation. There is also a staging area you can use if you want to preview something (but then you do need to commit it). A good starting point is probably:
