Extending JetSpeedUser or BaseJetspeedUser

I got a problem. A potential huge problem. In my app, getUserId() returns an
int. In Jetspeed it is a String. How can I change this with minimal impact.
It is almost impossible to change my code to make it a String.


Suggestions? Anyone else run into this problem?
