PPT interoperability wrinkle

Presentation using first and second level bullets

* first             * is actually a black dot
  - second

When I save it as a ppt file and view it in ppt [2011 - Mac or late PPT on Windoze] it displays as expected, but when I then view the ppt file in OO I get a strange symbol instead of the dash.  Hope this list takes attachments.
