Thanks, Marko.  The `free` was indeed missing; I have added it.  I would prefer to keep `RUNTEST_LOG` disabled by default because many of the unit test packages depend on runtest.  When these tests are run in native mode, the results should not get logged to a cbmem.  It is easier to override this setting once in `apps/testbench` than several times in every unit test package :).
