Summary: changes and User documentation

Status: Unassigned
Priority: Critical

Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven

Updated: Thu, 8 Jul 2004 8:49 AM
Environment: Windows 2000
java 1.4.2
Maven 1.0rc4
Description:
Hi
I'm new to Maven and I already could install and generate site.
but unfortunately I'm struck with two requirements as follows
A) I'm trying to link my own documents and their is only on variable
available to set this and it doesnt work.
The variable I could set is
"maven.docs.src"
I would be glad to recieve an apt solution.
B) I'm trying to use maven-changes-plugin with following settings
<reports>
<report>maven-changes-plugin</report>
<report>maven-jdepend-plugin</report>
<report>maven-checkstyle-plugin</report>
<report>maven-changelog-plugin</report>
<report>maven-developer-activity-plugin</report>
<report>maven-file-activity-plugin</report>
<report>maven-javadoc-plugin</report>
<report>maven-jxr-plugin</report>
</reports>
and changes.xml in directory ..\generated-xdocs\
it doesnt recognize the changes.xml file at all.
I tried changing it to changes-report.xml and it recognizes but unfortunately it does something but it doesnt gets added in links.
and the generated changes.html seems wrong as it takes only the description writen in action tags of changes.xml and cummulates all to show it as one full message.
It will be of great help if i get a solvable tips.
Thanks a lot in advance

A) you place your own xdocs in the xdocs directory. Is that what you are trying to do? I'm not sure I understood the question - please pose it at users@maven.apache.org after subscribing
B) changes.xml should also go into "./xdocs" directory.
maven site will then convert that to xdoc format in generated-xdocs, and xdoc will convert that to changes.html.
