Integration of the FTP Server and Jackrabbit

Hi,

Is there any undergoing effort to use Jackrabbit (or other JCR
compatible repository) as the underlying store for the FTP Server?

What do you think about this idea? Is it possible to implement it?

Hi,

Yes, we will be modeling our FileSystemManager,
FileSystemView and FileObject towards JSR-170. Then we
should be able to support Jackrabbit.

At this point the main objective is the stability
and maintainability. Unless the code is stable there
is no point supporting different frameworks.

As of now we have removed our own logging
implementation by the Apache commons logging. We have
modeled our configuration structure by the Apache
commons configuration. We are not using the commons
configuration because we are hesitant to inject
dependencies. Our next target is to model the file
system access component. In Jira we have an old patch
to enable the session concept. Be assured that it will
be done soon.

Thanks,
Rana Bhattacharyya

Hi Jorge,

It's a good idea I think and I'm really interested to work on it. I have
already looked the code to implement this but some limitations in the
current design, take the thing really difficult. One of these things is the
problem about the notion of session, and how to relate it with the
FileSystemView. I'm thinking about this and if it's not interesting to take
a part of code of the project and create another project to do this.

I hope you understand me my English is so bad.
