Notifications, script support, talks from your days spending with svn

Hi List,

can you send me your ideas or workarounds to get notified when some
source is checked in.
I thinking about difenrent notifications for re-commited and new
sources. Also i think about a sidechain to run some scripts when source
is checked in, so i want to run tests like performance test and unit
tests. Can you share some experiences?

Thanks
Kris

Yes, with workarounds, i mean your thouths and discussion about it. What
functions are available, what kind of bennefits do they have, are others
better? How do you check and test the code? Do you atomaticly deploy new
Versions to the lifesystem? What mechanism do you use to mark Versions
as stable?

Yes, I could send it to you, but discussions take place Here(tm) in order that
everyone can participate and benefit.

What exactly is it that hook scripts can't do?
