how to contribute to Turbine

How do I start contributing to development? Should I just post my ideas
to the dev list and go from there? Could someone briefly explain what to
do?

Here are some of my interests.
- Intake features
-- integration with project-schema.xml
-- automatic HTML generation and XML transformation
-- more field rules
- Peers could use a method for updating more than one row, such as
"update table set column = newValue where column = oldValue"
- import and export data using XML
- docs, tutorials, howto's
