Using substring and indexof in strings

Hi,

I was trying to use $entry.name.indexOf("hell") but it doesn't seem to work.
As well, substring method doesn't work.

What is the way to use strings functions?

The Java String indexOf() and substring() methods are working fine for me.

Do you have some specific examples that do not work?
