[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-11154) Proxy error page served up with status 200

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-11154?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15136227#comment-15136227 ]

Sebb commented on INFRA-11154:

Here is an example URL:

http://www.apache.org/dev/service_unavailable.html?site=reporter.apache.org&code=502

I originally received this in Safari, which does not appear to have a way to view the response headers for the current request (it seems you have to record the traffic first). However when I view the URL in Firefox, I get the following headers:

Date: Sun, 07 Feb 2016 11:37:49 GMT
Server: Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu)
Last-Modified: Tue, 17 Feb 2015 18:06:33 GMT
Etag: "12bc-50f4c901b7db4-gzip"
Accept-Ranges: bytes
Vary: Accept-Encoding
Content-Encoding: gzip
Cache-Control: max-age=3600
Expires: Sun, 07 Feb 2016 12:37:49 GMT
Content-Length: 1889
Content-Type: text/html

200 OK

> Every so often, one of the VMs responds with a proxy error.
> This happens on projects.a.o and reporter.a.o as well as whimsy-test.a.o.
> The page is useful for human browsers, but it also seems to be served up when requesting data files such as JSON files.
> This would be OK, except that the status is set to 200, so scripts assume that the correct page has been retrieved. This causes scripts to fail with strange errors (especially since the error is normally transitory).
