Jboss/Tomcat weapps and different log4j

Hi,
 I am using jboss 2.2.2 and tomcat 3.2.2 and I want to use different
properties file for different webapps. I deploy webapps using war file and
the web.xml as the property pointing out to the log4j.properties path. The
problem I have is that different webapps end up using the last initialized
log file rather than there own log file.
 
Is this a known thing, if so how do I solve this. Any help would be
appreciated.
