[Brutus Wish] Mono 1.0

Hi,

could anybody with root access please install Mono 1.0 on Brutus?

This will not only allow Ant to run the tests for its .NET tasks but
will also enable us to start with a <nant> builder for the .NET
projects like log4net.

A first check at debian.org only showed some very old packages in
testing and <http://www.mono-project.com/downloads/> doesn't list any
debian packages either.

Google came up with <http://pkg-mono.alioth.debian.org/> which looks
fine. I'm not scared too much by the EXPERIMENTAL marker, but you may
be.

Stefan

If mono is installed, could I also request installation of IKVM (ver 0.8
works with mono 1.0).

This will allow us to compile java jars to .NET CLR, and thus allow them
to be used from .NET applications. We've had some interest from our
users on these lines.

I've installed the mono 1.0 rpm's which include a bundled ikvm rpm, and
that works well. Have no knowledge of the state of debian packages.

Thanks

Avik
