another round on the SpamAssassin logos?

Hi folks --

Thanks for the great logos! *Too* good, in fact ;), because we're now in
a situation where the following three logo proposals are tied in first
place: http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/LogoContestTiebreaker

So, since at least one of you has noted that it was a draft, we're
thinking this might be a good opportunity for a final round, giving you a
chance to submit an update, if you like.

BTW if you'd like to follow the voting procedure so far, it's at:
http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3675

Please feel free to follow up this msg with any questions or comments; the
cc address is a public mailing list. (And in turn: any of the developers
have suggestions that might sway their votes towards a clear winner? ;)

thanks!

(PS: my $.02: I would suggest getting a reference in to the Apache
Feather, as in Christian's designs; I think that has turned out to be a
key motif to the voting dev team.)

Logos that use entirely upper-case should be avoided, since that's how
Hormel like SPAM(tm) to be written to distinguish junk food (uc) from junk
email (lc).

I think the key attributes of the new SpamAssassin logo (in addition to
it just being a good design) that differentiated that submission from
the others:

 - a novel link with Apache Software Foundation (the core brand)
 - the concept of filtering out spam or classifying email
 - uniqueness (no cliche design elements)

I think it's a bit more than a feather reference. There were several
other logos that included feathers and none ranked very high.

The other thing I should probably mention is rendering of the
SpamAssassin name. We always write it as a single word with the "S" and
the "A" capitalized: "SpamAssassin". However, some of the logos I liked
deviated a bit from that, separating "Spam" from "Assassin" or going all
lower-case. This is a minor quibble, but we probably want the logo to
be consistent with everything else in that respect.

Also, please don't feel too constrained by your original submissions.
Go crazy if you want to change something. If you have another great
idea, we'd be nuts to ignore it.
