   Hi @Dylan1312, apologies for the delay into looking at this, could you provide some additional details about which Hadoop distribution/version and index task configuration that lead to encountering this issue? 
   
   I don't seem to have a problem on indexing or historical side if I use the docker container we provide for the Hadoop quick-start tutorial, which admittedly is hardly a realistic test, but word on the street is that releases greater than 0.14.0 work for at least some versions of Hadoop besides the version we bundle by default (2.8.3).
   
   I pulled your branch, and I can't quite tell what this patch would change; in terms of raw jars, a build of this branch appears identical to current master. But, I am also not incredibly familiar with the Hadoop index task class loader stuff, so maybe I'm missing something important in that regards? I'll try to have a closer look and see if I can get a better idea of what specifically is going on in there.
