[jira] [Commented] (DIRSERVER-1731) Lookup operation does not behave as search when returning aliases

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1731?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13289996#comment-13289996 ]

Emmanuel Lecharny commented on DIRSERVER-1731:
----------------------------------------------

to be more explicit, if we detect that a search is done with BASE scope and (objectclass=*), then we can do a lookup instead of a search. But in this case, the lookup does not dereference an alias, when it's correctly dereferenced in search.

When using the CoreSessio (embedded server), the lookup is usable, so this might be dangerous too.
