It appears that there is a general problem with the latest jdk9 on Jenkins
[1].
I modified Calcite jobs to run with a previous version of jdk9 (b181) but
things are not that great either since Cassandra tests fail on this jdk [2].
Given this situation, I am thinking that is is better to deactivate the
tests on jdk9 at least till INFRA-18694 is resolved. We still have jdk9
tests running on Travis.

I know some companies that are still on Java 8.

Good point Vladimir. Given that Java 9 reached already the end of its life
I think we should remove it from our CI.
Other than that I am curious to understand why the problem appeared now to
better prevent such situations in the future.

Just a side note: do we really need/want to support Java 9?
What if we just skip Java9 and stick with Java 8, 11, and later EAP
eversions?
Does anybody really uses Java 9 in production?
What's the purpose of supporting that?
Frankly speaking, "Java 9" related failures are a pure noise to me.
The mail is generic like "Calcite build fails", and it really sad it
notifies lots of people as "build failure" for such a tiny event (==Java9
failed somehow).

/home/jenkins/tools/java/latest1.9/bin/java: error while loading shared libraries: libjli.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
