[jira] [Commented] (FREEMARKER-148) [freemarker-cli] Make usage of "DataSources" more "Freemarker" like

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FREEMARKER-148?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17148920#comment-17148920 ]

Siegfried Goeschl commented on FREEMARKER-148:
----------------------------------------------

Had a quick look at it but I'm a bit lost

* I created a DataSourcesAdapter which extends TemplateSequenceModel & TemplateHashModel
* DataSources has a few additional finder methods which I can't invoke when exposing the DataSourcesAdapter

So the question is what interfaces needs to be implemented to support

* sequence semantics
* hash map semantics
* arbitrary helper methods

in  a single adapter

> "DataSources" is exposed to get/find documents - as suggested it would be nice to make the access more aligned with FreeMarker usage.
> The way to go is to wrap "DataSources" and expose "TemplateSequenceModel" and "TemplateHashModel".
> So accessing the first datasource would look like
> {code:java}
> ${GsonTool.toJson(YamlTool.parse(DataSources[0]))}
> {code}
> instead of
> {code:java}
> ${GsonTool.toJson(YamlTool.parse(DataSources.get(0)))}
> {code}
