Base64 encoding doesn't work

           Summary: Base64 encoding doesn't work
           Product: Xerces2-J
           Version: 2.0.1
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Critical
          Priority: Other
         Component: Other
        AssignedTo: xerces-j-dev@xml.apache.org
        ReportedBy: skidder@bssys.com

Class org.apache.xerces.impl.xs.util.Base64 mentioned in documentation is not
included in 2.0.1 distribution and current development snapshot (xml-
xerces_20020413102315.tar.gz). Included class
org.apache.xerces.impl.dv.util.Base64 cannot handle whitespace. This makes
impossible to use Base64 encoded data created using other parsers (MSXML in my
case) which add some whitespace to encoded data.
