Does anyone else from xml.apache.org have any feedback on this proposal

Re: [RFC] Re: Helma XML-RPC @ Jakarta

Posted by Davanum Srinivas <di...@yahoo.com>.
Jason,

Is there any way you could use Stylebook? Site generation for xml.apache.org is already in a bit
of mess. Take a look at the xml-site module in CVS. Using anakia now will increase the problems
later when all of us decide to revamp the system for generating the xml.apache.org site.

Thanks,
dims

Cool and the Gang :-) I will have everything ready for import by
Friday, so I'll coordinate with Sam as it looks like everything
is a go.

I would like to use Anakia to generate the docs, is this acceptable?
I already have the docs converted to Anakia so I'd like to use
what I have.

Hi Sanjiva,

The long term plan is for the XML-RPC project and the Axis
project to work together to provide XML-RPC support from
inside Axis. Sam has volunteered to try to facilitate this
process. I think's very worthwhile to pursue this.

Re: [RFC] Re: Helma XML-RPC @ Jakarta

Posted by Sanjiva Weerawarana <sa...@watson.ibm.com>.
I have one concern: XML-RPC is generally viewed as a pre-cursor
to SOAP. As such, given there is already a SOAP project at
xml.apache.org (two in fact, with the second [axis] destined
to replace apache soap) I believe we will add to the confusion
by adding a third.

That said, XML-RPC clearly has a strong deployed user-base that
would be well served by a quality apache implementation.

Sanjiva.
