HR Leave and portal calendar

Hi,
Leave assigned in the HR module doesn't show up in my portal module.
Specifically, the calendar in my portal doesn't show leave. It makes
sense to me that it would show there. Is this by design?

I would like to add this functionality if it doesn't exist already
somehow. Can someone point me in the right direction how I can
accomplish this the best.

Disclaimer: I am new to OFBiz development, so let me know if I'm missing
something basic.
