This is indicative of bizarre database corruption.

Would you be willing to make your repository available to me (for recovery 
of as much data as I can) and/or to Sleepycat, the makers of Berkeley DB (to 
try and figure out what went wrong)?

Please tell us which version of berkeley DB subversion is linked to.
