Problem with JDBC Connector 2 driver

My app still hangs once in a while.  I am supsecting the problem comes from the JDBC driver becuase it only stalls on the pages that need database access.  Would anybody please tell me if you have experieneced the same problem with using Linux, mysql, and Connector 2 driver.
