While I appreciate what you are aiming for here, we have other plans to get to what you are trying to achieve here.

Essentially we will be including a "ripple" platform for support inside the Ripple emulator. That platform will act as pretty much what you expect here.

Also, don't feel shy about bringing this issue up on the dev mailing list. I think some interesting discussion would arise out of it and the objective here certainly lines up with the goals of the project.
