to uninstall or not to uninstall ...

Hi all out there!

Following list mail I see that some explicitly say they uninstalled
the previous release of SVN / TSVN before setting up the new
version. Being at this point for the first time now my question is:

to uninstall or not to uninstall before?

What is the suggestion/recommendation for Win2000? Is there a
best way at all? Most commercial software either has explicit
upgrade packages or says to install just into the old path. I have
not seen anything related on the SVN install page.

TIA - Jan Hendrik

May suggest to add this to both the SVN and TSVN FAQs? As
any new user is faced with this issue within few weeks and most
software either has dedicated update packages or explicitly says
to install on top or after uninstall ...

I guess you can do it as you like.
The only thing you should be aware of is that for TSVN:
it's a shell integration. So you _must_ (after updating)
restart windows or at least the explorer process. If you don't
then the the explorer process still has the old version of the
dll loaded in RAM and uses that old version...
