I tried submitted an question to the user mailing list regarding support for
RFC 2817, but I didn't get any replies. So, I figure I'll try an enhancement
request since researching the topic hinted that it is not supported.

Here is info that I included within my inquiry to the mailing list.
* This only information I’ve been able to find regarding RFC 2817 and Tomcat is
at the link below. It is from last August and more or less states that it is
not supported. However, it doesn’t say anything about a possible enhancement.

* I also found this page, which cites a couple Apache Java projects that
support RFC 2817. Any chance this could be incorporated into Tomcat?

Tomcat relies on JSSE to provide the bulk of the SSL implementation. Until JSSE
supports RFC 2817 for http then this is going to remain a WONTFIX.
