a newbie question about the example app in tdk

Hello everybody...

After a few days of looking at the tdk and docs, I noticed that when I
try to login to the sample app with the wrong password I get strange
bahavior. Instead of seeing the login page again, I see the layout
with the menus on the left, and the login screen where the list of
items should be. I tried changing things that seemed connected to
this, but with no success. Can anyone help me?

I'm using tdk 2.1
