Sorry for the delayed response:

1) You can create a primary key index on your region to prevent full region scans.  These indexes are super-lightweight.
2) Geode now supports role-based access control so that you can deploy pulse and only certain users will be able to issue OQL queries.
3) Adding json export capabilities to {{gfsh}} would be really cool.  See GEODE-2270.

Given the above, I'm going to close this issue.
