[This PR #3405](https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/3405) added [functionality](https://github.com/apache/airflow/blame/master/airflow/hooks/hive_hooks.py#L800) that made task instance context available for hive queries. Unfortunately this usage of the set command is (https://impala.apache.org/docs/build/html/topics/impala_set.html[not supported]) on impala (currently on impala-shell supports set and only for query options not variables like hive).
