Thanks! I'm reworking the patch based on your feedback, in particular:
- Fields will be private (that was an oversight, oops!)
- Returning long instead of BigInteger is on purpose to keep the API easier for users, since that way I can keep the users from needing to mess around with the signed-vs-unsigned ugliness. I'm also assuming that UID/GID greater than 32bits (let alone 63bits!) does not exist on any unix machines at this time.
- Switching to JUnit4.
- Thanks for BigInteger.valueOf()! I will switch to that! (Had no idea it existed)
