Waive interest causing account to freeze

Hi Devs,

I have noticed that if you charge penalties and then you waive them your
account is made purple. It will not close the loan and the only thing you
can do is transfer funds.

Firstly

I would like to just waive my interest and make my relevant repayments so
that I can close the loan. It is not allowing me to do so.

Secondly

Is there no bulk option for waving all the interest at one go? I have
interest for days and days and it may become a bit tedious to click waive
interest 20 times for each account on 500 accounts.

Your assistance on this matter will be very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Sifiso

Hi Skyburg ,

1. The account status showing 'Purple' means it is 'overpaid' account.
Nothing to do with waiving off penalties. Consider Your principal amount
is 10,000 and total interest is 500. If you prepay loan of 10,500, the loan
account gets closed and shows Black color status.
In stead of 10,500, if you prepay loan of 11,000 it shows Overpaid
state(ie. Purple) and the only option you get is 'Transfer funds'. That
is, it requires a saving account to transfer overpaid amount(500, in this
case).

Create a saving account for the client whose loan account is 'Purple' and
click on transfer funds. In transfer fund page, select the client name, his
saving account, date, Description(it is mandatory) and submit it. The
account will be turned into closed(Black)

2. If you are waiving off interests of back dated repayments, the only
available option right now is, to waive interest one by one for each
repayment. But consider, you have disbursed loan at present date then you
can waive off all the interests at one go.. That is, if the repayments are
in the future, then you can waive off all interests at once.
