FW: RESOURCE NAMING

Can I programmatically control the name assigned to a Xindice resource?
I know I can do this at the command line, or using Xincon, but how can I
do it using the Xindice APIs?
 
Also, after I create a resource is there a validating parser that
"understands" XMLResource objects?
