[jira] [Commented] (CALCITE-1938) First Apache release for Avatica Go

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-1938?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16178383#comment-16178383 ]

Francis Chuang commented on CALCITE-1938:
-----------------------------------------

I have been super swamped for the last month and have not been able to fully port over all the tests yet. There are still a few that I plan to port over this weekend. I ran into a few issues with avatica-hsqldb that is preventing the tests from passing:
- [CALCITE-1958|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-1958?filter=-2]
- [CALCITE-1957|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-1957?filter=-2]
- [CALCITE-1951|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-1951?filter=-2]
- [CALCITE-1950|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-1950?filter=-2]

What is the Apache foundation's stance on spinning up an instance of MySQL for tests? If this is fine, I plan to port the tests to MySQL as well (it's a db I am more familiar with) as HSQLDB does not seem to be very stable.
