FlexJSOverlay status?
I see that the last modified date for the file: FlexJSOverlay.zip at [1] is
23-Jul-2013 06:44
Alex, do you update this everyday? Can I be assured that I will see the
latest version of the FlexJS SDK on any given day?
Thanks,
Om

Thanks Om,
I think in this case maven will play an important role to avoid this kind
of complicated builds since the CI will get care of all this stuff and our
projects will only need to have the dependencies set.
In this regard I'm working on mavenizing falcon compiler and compiler.jx,
and then I'll try to make the same with FlexJSUI.swc, so I can reach to the
sample level projects. For the first group of artifacts (falcon compiler) I
think we only have the problem that there's no offcial JBurg artifact
deployed and no jburg maven plugin for code generation. I was talking with
Tom Hardwood, the man behind JBurg, and he'll plan to generate maven
artifact. Meanwhile I deployed JBurg in my own nexus to continue working on
the mavenization of falcon. For jburg generation, we could bypass it with
an ant task that calls the java process directly...
I'll report more on this as I get tasks done...

You can use the overlay if you dont want to build the FlexJS SDK from
source. You can just follow the directions here [1] to set up a FlexJSSDK
directory. Think of it like the output of the Flex SDK Installer (after
all the pieces are assembled)

The directions in [1] should help explain the structure a bit.

Alex,
could you explain a bit more about this overlay. Mainly:
* why we need this overlay
* a bit about structure. what is needed
When I did some work with FlexJS in eclipse I tried to not have this
dependency and I get a workflow that was working. Now that I'm swiching all
my developments to IntelliJ I'll try to get something similar.

Same here. Its on my todo list for tinkering. I am just not able to
decide which one to work on first - Stage3D/Starling or FXG/SVG support.

Hi Om,
I'm sure that IntelliJ people would support FlexJS if they see as an
interesting technology that will promise something way ahead of what others
can offer today. I think we are on the way, If we get what we're talking
about in this thread (I only miss Stage3D support for SWf version ;)), I
think we have something very tasty :)

I guess I got lucky this time. It was a while since I refreshed and saw
the timestamp from the same date. Hence the question.

That would be great! A few things we might want to do:
1. Installer support (I can work on this)
2. More improved Flash Builder support.
3. IntelliJ plugin for FlexJS? Can someone work on this one?
4. Carlos is already thinking about building Maven support.
Anything else to add to this wishlist?

No, it doesn't get updated every day. Only when I have new features or
important bug fixes to make available. New features are generally
announced with an email like the one I'm about to send.
Peter is checking in stuff, but I don't always push a new overlay when he
does. But I do push a new overlay just before I check in stuff.
After we get past 360|Stack conference and the 4.10.0 release, it may be
time to start officially releasing FlexJS/Falcon/FalconJX (with lots of
disclaimers and version numbers less than 1).
