[jira] [Resolved] (HBASE-13747) Promote Java 8 to "yes" in support matrix

Sean Busbey resolved HBASE-13747.
---------------------------------
      Resolution: Fixed
Release Note: Java 8 is considered supported and tested as of HBase 1.2+

It's now possible to get through an entire make_rc.sh run with JDK8 as the target JVM, so I'm closing this out. Master and branch-1 are likely to drift from that due to the tighter javadoc requirements until we can get multi-jdk precommit tests in (probably late July), so something to watch out for on later releases.

> Now that Java 7 is EOL, we need to move to formally supporting Java 8. Let's use this ticket to track efforts needed to stop caveating our support table.
