[jira] [Commented] (AURORA-173) implement Omega-style preferences

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AURORA-173?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14259387#comment-14259387 ]

Stephan Erb commented on AURORA-173:
------------------------------------

Instead of just diversity preferences we would be interested in locality preferences, so that Aurora can make smarter decisions which jobs should be colocated on the same rack or even host.

Are there any plans how these kind of preferences could be implemented in Aurora?

> Right now we inject default rack diversity constraints on the scheduler side. Instead this should be a rack diversity preference, not hard constraint (and one step further, general failure domain diversity preferences.) Inspired by the idea from Omega.
