When the number of hits returned from a search is large, say 500 hits, each 
group of 100 hits is correctly ranked from higher to lower score, but the 
ranking is not valid across the entire set of hits. That is, hit number 100 can 
have a lower score than hit number 101. Here are the scores from a search that
