src/org/apache/fop/svg/PDFGraphics2D.java (search for jdk1.4 and remove the

I'm trying to build fop-0.20.4, but I'm getting an error when the
compiler
get to PDFGraphics2D.java.
I'm wondering if any of you had a similar problem ?
I opened a bug report for this but it was closed saying that
"There are instructions for how to build FOP with JDK 1.4 in the
docs in the distribution."
Fine !! but I followed the instructions letter by letter and everything
seems
to be ok, all environment variables are set as per the instructions !
After a build fails I cleaned the previous build before the next try.
I had the same problem on windows NT and windows 2000.
I'm using j2sdk1.4.0_01. there is no other jars ( xerces, batik, etc..)
appearing in my classpath, I'm just using the jars that come with the
distribution.
here are the traces.  I would appreciate any hint. thanks.

does anyone knows how to read an xml and pass it to
XSLTInputHandler without reading it from a file?
