[jira] [Commented] (IMPALA-6033) Add query option that rejects
queries against tables with missing statistics
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-6033?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16498466#comment-16498466 ]
Peter Ebert commented on IMPALA-6033:
-------------------------------------
I would say that there should be at least 3 options.
# Run with/without stats
# Run if and only if any stats are present (for example table too large for stats, manually entered row statistics)
# Do not run if any stats are missing
> Add query option that rejects queries against tables with missing statistics

> Add query option that rejects queries against tables missing statistics.
> This is a mechanism to protect the cluster from potentially harmful queries.
