Maven plugin testing tools/harness

Hello,
I would like to know where I can find usage examples of the
maven-plugin-testing-tools shared component. It looks really
interesting....

PS: Is it possible to connect to irc.codehaus.org using erc on emacs ?
I keep getting connection errors...
