java/sca/modules/databinding-jaxb/src/main/java/org/apache/tuscany/sca/databinding/jaxb/JAXBContextHelper.java has method getSeeAlso() to handle XmlSeeAlso annotation processing:

    private static Class<?>[] getSeeAlso(Class<?> interfaze) {
        if (interfaze == null) {
            return null;
        }
        XmlSeeAlso seeAlso = interfaze.getAnnotation(XmlSeeAlso.class);
        if (seeAlso == null) {
            return null;
        } else {
            return seeAlso.value();
        }
    }

Depending on JDK implementation, instead of null a TypeNotPresentException may be thrown on getAnnotation(), which should be handled.
