[jira] [Created] (HIVE-2483) Add support for serializing zero-length binary data

Add support for serializing zero-length binary data
----------------------------------------------------

                 Key: HIVE-2483
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-2483
             Project: Hive
          Issue Type: Improvement
    Affects Versions: 0.9.0
            Reporter: Ashutosh Chauhan

HIVE-2380 added binary data type in Hive. Currently, LazyBinaryColumnarSerde cannot serialize zero-length binary data and throws an Exception when it encounters zero-length binary data. It will be good to lift this restriction.
