Update notifications
A little while ago Herbert checked in Oliver's changes to the update
notifications. I can see now, via Google Analytics, a heavy volume of
users updating, from 3.4.1 and 3.3.0 and 3.2.1, especially German,
English, French, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.
I'll give a fuller report after 24 hours.
Regards,
-Rob

The upgrade notifications are randomly distributed over a week (or
longer if someone is on vacation or defers the upgrade). So it is not
a very large hit.
Of course, I hope we soon reach an install base where we will need to
be much more careful ;-)

This was also my first thought. Maybe it would have been better to wait
until the first download peaks are over (2 weeks ?) and then enable the
update service.
But OK, it seems to be too late ... ;-)
