[jira] [Created] (GERONIMO-6156) make console more virtual hosts
aware
make console more virtual hosts aware
-------------------------------------
Key: GERONIMO-6156
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-6156
Project: Geronimo
Issue Type: New Feature
Security Level: public (Regular issues)
Components: console
Affects Versions: 3.0-M1, 2.2.1, 2.1.7
Environment: all
Reporter: Radim Kolar
All other applications servers - jboss, glassfish, websphere, etc. can admin virtual hosts from console. Even jboss with its really low quality console can add virtual hosts.
In geronimo if you need to add or delete virtual host you need to shutdown server and edit by hand configuration file. This is easy to get wrong and hard to remember what to edit. Adding/removing virtual hosts is done very often on production servers.
Also you cant assign application to virtual host in deploy plan creator.
in Installed Web Applications console view, you can see URLs where are application deployed but no virtual hosts.

Radim Kolar commented on GERONIMO-6156:
---------------------------------------
also add to deployment form another field - drop down list of virtual hosts which will allow to deploy application to specified virtual host without fiddling with xml descriptor in war or deployment plan.
