[jira] [Commented] (LEGAL-658) Do CLAs to donators SGA work need to be verified by project PMC ?

Roman Shaposhnik commented on LEGAL-658:

That is correct, an SGA is enough.

However, as always in life, if (especially after SGA is received) anyone in the community has credible reasons to believe that the company was NOT in a position to sign it – it is worth speaking up and raising it through the vp-legal@a.o

> The Cassandra project is about to accept the java-driver donation from Datastax, and the IP Clearance is currently in progress (and vote).
> A question (from Benedict) has been raised about the ASF and PMC's requirement to have oversight and to verify the pre-donation copyright to Datastax is legit via all CLAs submitted to Datastax.

> It is our understanding that the SGA is enough from ASF's perspective. That the legal responsibility for having copyright on all work to be donated is solely on Datastax.
> We would like this confirmed.
