InstantiationException using ant.bat

Hi,

I extracted ANT 1.6.2 on Windows XP Professional with JDK 1.4.2_05.

D:\>ant
java.lang.InstantiationException: org.apache.tools.ant.Main
        at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Class.java:293)
        at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Class.java:261)
        at org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher.run(Launcher.java:245)
        at org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher.main(Launcher.java:67)

I then deleted the ANT 1.6.2 folder and extracted ANT 1.6.3 with the
same exception when I ran it.

However, I also have version 1.5.3 of ANT that was installed as part of
the BEA Weblogic 8.1 installation, and this works fine from the command
line.

What is the problem?
