[vote] etch logo

ok, so last week we had discussion, the sense it got was that these
logos were enough for a vote. david staudt suggested a combination of
(2) and (3) which i don't entirely understand (please explain david!).
let's call that (4) an have it as a virtual icon. please vote now for
(1) through (4). you've got 48 hours. only committers have a vote,
others may express their opinion. committers are scott, jd, seth, james,
rene, guarav, jim, youngjin.

thanks,
scott out

ok we got 3 votes for #3, and 2 votes for #2. we've not heard from james
or youngjin. what's up with that?

Thien has probably gone off for Chinese New Year celebrations next week already.

Thien have a ICLA on file with the ASF Secretary, and material he
contributes fall under Apache Licensing rules, like source files.

Will also ask him to submit the Illustrator source files, and SVG
variants, for your safe keeping.

Thanks.
I'm ok with granting rights to asf (can't open the attachment though, but
it's ok).

ok, everyone has voted. that's a first.

5 for #3 (rene, jd, gaurav, james, youngjin)
2 for #2 (scott, jim).

#3 it is. i'm going to attach the image below to the issue.

james will then hack the image up to extract the logo and put it where
it goes on the wiki.

many thanks to thien for the effort to make the logos.
(oh, i attached it granting rights to asf, is that ok, thien?)

many thanks,

My suggestion was basically #2 with a smoother, more regular font - the
current #2 font has wavy edges and looks hand-lettered.

Otherwise backing #2
